• participation in the formulation of energy strategies in the Czech Republic
• working towards the rectification of price relationships on the basis of resulting and costs calculations of natural gas distribution
• coordination and enforcement of standpoints of the members in a legislative process

• executing notices to energy law
• organisation of sales support in media
• collective bargaining and entering into a collective agreement of a higher degree
• support of gas utilization in transport (working towards granting subsidies for the purchase of busses using natural gas, participating in the project of filling stations planning across Europe "Blue Corridor")
• representing Czech gas industry in Eurogas

With respect to the prepared opening of the gas market and the related major changes in conditions for gas businesses, CGU made fundamental structural changes in its organisation strengthening and extending the influence of CGU, particularly in such areas as:

• formation of the State Energetic Conception (SEK),
• update of legislation (including particularly the energy law and following regulations, rules of gas market organisation, regulatory directives),
• public relations,
• use of natural gas in transport,
• education (with a focus on operations on open market)
• carrying out the function of employer´s association.
